Our commitment to your privacy

Notepad Neo is built on a simple principle: your notes are yours. Everything you write stays on your device. We have no access to your content, we collect no personal data, and we require no account or login of any kind. This page explains exactly what that means in practice.

Note content — stored locally, never sent to us

All notes you create are stored exclusively in your browser's local storage under the key nn_state. This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party. There is no server-side copy, because there is no server.

If you clear your browser's site data or local storage, your notes will be permanently deleted. We recommend exporting important notes using File → Save as a precaution.

Data we collect

We collect no personal data. Specifically:

• Note content — stored only in your browser's local storage. Never sent to any server.
• Accounts — Notepad Neo has no user accounts, no registration, and no login.
• Analytics — we use Google Analytics 4 to measure aggregate site traffic (pages visited, session counts, general geographic region). This does not include note content, which never leaves your device. Google Analytics may associate data with a cookie-based identifier. See the Cookie Policy for details. We do not use session recording or heatmap tools.
• Functional storage — we use browser storage only for product preferences such as your chosen theme (dark/light), panel state, and zoom level. These never leave your device.
• Cookies — we set no first-party tracking or advertising cookies.

Third-party services

We use Google Analytics 4 on all pages to understand how visitors use the site (traffic volumes, popular pages, general regions). This script is loaded via Partytown to run off the main thread. Google processes this data under its own Privacy Policy. Your note content is never included in any analytics data. The advertising network we use, Google AdSense, similarly operates under its own privacy policy — see Advertising below.

Advertising

To keep the app free, Notepad Neo is supported by advertising served through Google AdSense. Ad networks may set their own cookies to show relevant ads based on your browsing activity across the web. This is separate from our own data practices — we never share your note content with advertisers. You can opt out of personalised ads via Google Ad Settings or your browser's privacy controls.

Children's privacy

Notepad Neo does not knowingly collect data from users under 13 years of age. The app is designed for general audiences. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has submitted personal information through this site, please contact us and we will address it promptly.

Data security

Because all note data is stored locally on your device and never transmitted to us, the security of your notes is determined by your own device and browser security. We serve this site over HTTPS at all times to protect any network communication.

Your rights

Since we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete on our end. Your notes are under your full control at all times — accessible from your browser's local storage and deletable by you at any moment.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Changes will be reflected with a new "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
